- Choose Your Graduate Program
View available YWCC programs here and decide which one you want to pursue. - Submit Application
Apply using the "Dual Enrollment Application BS/MS." You must have Junior standing (57+ credits) and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 to be eligible to apply. You cannot apply in your final UG semester. - Wait for Admission Decision
It may take about a month for Admissions to process your application. If you don’t hear back in a month, follow up with your academic advisor. - Accepted - Meet with Your Academic Advisor
Once accepted, meet with your assigned academic advisor to review your program and choose appropriate graduate courses (see equivalencies below). - Submit Your GR Course Requests Each Semester
Complete the Approval for Undergraduate to Register for Graduate Courses - (BS/MS) and send it to ywcc-bsms@njit.edu. Note the following:
- If your cumulative GPA is between 3.0–3.1999, you can take up to 3 graduate courses; if it's 3.2 or higher, you can take up to 4, overall, not per semester.
- Registration for BS/MS courses begins TWO WEEKS after general registration opens.
- Ensure the course meets both undergraduate (UG) and graduate (GR) requirements.
- Ensure you meet any prerequisites for both the UG and GR equivalents.
- Make sure the course you are requesting is OPEN. UG students cannot waitlist for GR classes.
- If you applied to the MS Online program, you can only take Online Virtual classes; for MS Newark, in-person or Online Newark classes.
- Advisor Processing**
YWCC Advisors will verify the course is open and meets your program requirements. Once reviewed and signed, it will be emailed back to you. - Request Registrar to Register You
Email Registrar@njit.edu to add you to the course, attaching the completed form. Be sure to CC ywcc-bsms@njit.edu and your YWCC Graduate Advisor. - Registrar’s Processing
As long as the course is open and you meet the prerequisites for the course, the Registrar will add you to the course and mark it as counting toward both your undergraduate and graduate credits.
**Note: If you're outside YWCC, confirm with your UG academic advisor in your home school/college how the course will count toward your undergraduate degree and then email the YWCC Graduate Advisor to sign the graduate portion of the form.

A: It can be applied toward the UG degree only but not for the graduate degree. |
Q: When does the BS/MS class expire? |
A: At the undergraduate level, it is 10 years but at the graduate level it is 7 years. |
